What time will the event finish each day?

The Stockman’s Challenge competition will be all over red rover by about 4 or 5pm each day.  On Friday and Saturday night the fun continues with live music and a Calcutta Auction on Saturday evening.  The event is officially over after the Presentation Ceremony Sunday afternoon – again about 4 or 5pm.

What is a Calcutta Auction?

This is probably the most asked question!

On Saturday evening the Challenge Finalists are announced so we all know who will be competing in the Finals on Sunday.  We then auction off the finalists.  No, you don’t get to keep them but you will take home a share of the prize money if your Finalist wins the title of Legend of the Lower Lakes on Sunday!

Which is the best day to come?

All of them!  If you absolutely must make a choice of only one day then the best I can tell you is that Saturday is a really big day and you’ll see all the action of the Preliminary events but Sunday has the thrills of the Finals events.  Such a tough choice!  You’ve also got the Saturday night entertainment – live music, announcing the finalists and the Calcutta Auction to take the fun into the night.

Seriously, it’s an all weekend affair, just book your full weekend package here and come soak up the Aussie bush spirit of adventure.

I would love to Volunteer but I don't know anything about horses! Can I still help?

Yes! Yes you can.  We need people to help with all sorts of things including gate attendants, runners, cleaners, parking attendants, merchandise tent attendants and we really need a Facebook expert!  If you have any special talents, let us know.  You’ll find the application form on the Get Involved page.  Simply download it and send it to us to get the ball rolling.

Tell me about car parking...

Car parking is on site and free.  Well, that was an easy one!

Is there disabled parking available?

Yes there is! The whole grounds are dirt so please note that it can be difficult to move around – we do have a transport service within the grounds. Please talk to the front gate attendants and they can call the transport manager on the day.

I bought a 3 day pass, do I have to save my ticket to get in the gate each day?

Nope.  You’ll hand your ticket in at the gate on your first entry and you will be given a wristband to wear for the whole weekend.  You bought a 3 day pass? You may as well camp on site – check it out.

Does the Campsite fee include my Gate Pass?

No it doesn’t.  The Campsite fee is only for the camp site.  You will need to purchase your gate passes separately.  You can prepurchase these on our page – Workin progress

Can I bring my dog to The Challenge?

Due to a large number of people and horses, we would encourage you to leave dogs at home. If you do bring a dog it must be on a lead at all times.

We do reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is unruly or threatening to other guests.

Is there anything for the kids to do all day?

Oh Yes!!  We have kids games and face painting….  not to mention all the horse action and whip cracking and the food….
